Taco Naan (Coppell, TX)

Man can’t subsist on hamburgers and pizza alone – even just for the occasions where he’s dining out.

With that in mind, I went to lunch with Michael again and we explored Belt Line as opposed to MacArthur, our usual street of choice for restaurants (lunch break logistics limit options). Michael likes Indian food; I had been lamenting the lack of tacos in my reviews, so when I saw Taco Naan appear in the list of local restaurants, I knew it was where we needed to be.

Throwback Thursday: The Tett Tales

I recently came across an old memory card with some recorded interviews for a fun social thing I was going to do in the 2014-15 Thunder offseason before everyone from the inaugural season was let go.

I hated that I never got to make the video or put it out, so I drew up some sketches, added some background music, and now I present this silly little throwback for my friends from Portland.

Rodeo Goat (Fort Worth, TX)

First things first: This was supposed to be a review of Dutch’s. I had occasion to go to Forth Worth twice since moving to the DFW area. I got free tickets (as a veteran) to the Armed Forces Bowl primarily to eat pre-game at Dutch’s, the winner of the DFW.com 2015 Burger Battle. When we got there, the restaurant was closed for the week for repairs or upgrades or some other reason that did not satisfy my hunger. You can’t eat an “I’m sorry, we’re not open” sign, Dutch’s!

I then had another opportunity to go this week, but ended up at Rodeo Goat, the winner of the same competition in 2014 and the People’s Champ in 2015. It was closer to where I was, after all.

New York Pizza Pasta (Valley Ranch, TX)

I’ve ordered from New York Pizza Pasta a few times, but for photo purposes I took the family and we dined in for the first time last weekend. The place is definitely set up for you to get your pizza at the counter and then sit, but one of the cooks offered to serve us at a table, so we went for that one, as we weren’t sure exactly what we wanted.

Dimassi’s Mediterranean Buffet (Irving, TX)

Ah, unlimited food. The portions are always just enough…to make you feel like you’re going to explode (unless you have much more self-control than I do). For lunch last Friday, I re-convened with my friend Michael and we ate enough that we didn’t need to eat for another 24 hours.
